Jagan Shah, an architect and urbanist focused on the future of cities, is currently CEO of The Infravision Foundation. A senior expert in urban development policy and practice at Artha Global, he has over two decades of experience in India’s urban sector across consultancy, teaching, writing, and public speaking.
From 2013 to 2019, he served as Director of the National Institute of Urban Affairs, where he led evidence-based policy and planning support for urban local bodies, state governments, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. His work spanned areas such as smart cities, e-governance, spatial planning, water and sanitation, municipal finance, transit-oriented development, and sustainability.
He is a Board Member at Clean Air Asia India, and has previously worked with the World Bank and as a Resident Senior Fellow at the IDFC Institute.
